Exercise and Eating Right Spells Fitness

Whenever you exercise, you do it to maintain a good body and a healthy body. You also need to know that you have to eat that will nourish your body. By doing so, you will give your body energy. Exercise and eating right can make you maintain the daily tasks of life. To take advantage of the most of your exercise routine and training, what you eat before and after your program is very important.

Whether you are doing a cardio workout or a resistance workout, you should eat a balanced mix of carbohydrates and protein. The percentage of carb and protein that you eat basically depends on whether or not you are doing cardio or resistance exercise and how intense your exercise program is.

The best time for you to eat is before you do your exercise training. You can do this an hour before your program. If you will be doing a low intensity level exercise, you can take a pre workout meal of up 200 calories or even less. If you are to do a high level of intensity workout, you need to eat between 4,000 and 5,000 calories of food.

For people doing cardio exercise workouts, you need to eat a mixt of 2/3 carb and protein of 1/3. Dong so will give you a much longer sustained energy coming from carbs you eat with enough protein to keep your muscles from breaking down while doing your exercise workout.

For people who are doing resistance exercise, you will have to take in food with mixture of 1/3 carb and proteins of 2/3. This will give you a lot of energy from carbohydrates to do each exercise and the extra protein will prevent your muscle to breakdown to a minimum while you exercise.

Taking something to eat after your exercise program is also important. Whether you are doing a low level or a high level intensity exercise, you reduce energy in the form of glycogen. Your brain as well as your nervous system relies on glycogen as source of energy. This will then be converted to a usable fuel for the brain and nervous system. This is why you need to eat food so you will have energy to do more activities for the rest of the day and to replace the energy you lost during exercise. Your body will breakdown muscle tissues and convert them to amino acids.

When you do high resistance exercises, you will break down your muscle tissue by creating micro tears. This means that after an exercise or workout, your muscles will then be placed in repair mode. Protein is very important for muscle repair.

After doing a cardio workout, you will have to take in carbohydrates and foods with high fiber content. The include rice, oatmeal, fruits and pasta. You must also take in 30-50 grams of carbohydrate after training. If you just completed a high level workout, you need to eat a meal with a combination of carbohydrates and protein. After doing a cardio workout, you can take something to eat after 50-10 minutes.
