There are many types of exercise that you can do to keep in shape. The type of exercise you do all depends on you and your capacity to do low intensity or high intensity work outs. You should also consider the money you pay for membership fee in your local gym or to pay for your fitness instructor while you can actually research what exercises you can do fit for your body type that you can do on your own.
Choose something that you like to do. If you choose something you don’t like- you will end up doing it for a short time and give up eventually. Give it some thought – if you don’t like walking, then you are not up for some jogging or running exercises too. If you can’t find something you like to do, choose something you hate the least then you can take it from there.
Walking is a very good exercise because it suits all fitness levels. Anyone can start a walking exercise at any time. What you can do is to choose the time of your routine and how long you do it so it can fit your individual capacity to do the exercise. Walking is actually a social exercise. It is not at all difficult to find a training buddy that you can be with during your walking exercise. Walking with your buddy will also pass time much faster.
Whatever exercise you choose, you should start at a low level of intensity then you can go with a more high intense exercise program. You can do low level intensity exercises over a period of weeks. If you start on too strong, you might end up hurting yourself and doing that will require time to recover.
If you’re really not fit for doing high intensity workouts, what you should do is to begin walking for ten minutes every day. You can increase your usual exercise by doing 5 minutes of walking every two weeks. To make things more challenging, you can do a different route every couple of days. You can also go with a different training buddy to do the program with you every day of the week.
If you are not comfortable doing a walking exercise, you can enroll in a gym or a fitness center where you can pick from a variety of exercises and programs available. When you choose a gym, make sure that you know what they had to offer you.
There are gyms that offer a free trial before you are required to register with them and pay for membership fees. You can also check out the equipments that are used there and see if they are well maintained. It’s easy to find a gym when you know which programs and workouts you want to do.
If you do not want to go to the gym, you can also go for sports and do golf or tennis. Both are good activities and you can also have a social life doing so.
